Eminent Domain

I recently wrote the following letter to Sondra Erickson reguarding the recent supreme court rulling.

I am concerned about the recent decision allowing the the goverment to take private property away from private citizens to give to another private party for the public good. Does Minnesota State Law need to be made stronger in this area to prevent this from happening? As a fellow Lutheran I think that Luthers Small Catechism has something to say in this reguard. In the meaning of the Ninth Commandment, it reads:
We should fear and love God that we may not craftily seek to get our neighbor's inheritance or house, and obtain it by a show of right, etc., but help and be of service to him in keeping it.
